West Wind Nursery and Kindergarten School was founded in 1947 by five women, including Mrs. Eleanor Billimoria and Mrs. Reynolds, who aimed to provide individual attention and a pleasant learning environment for their children. Initially held at Mrs. Reynolds' home, the school quickly expanded and relocated to navy hutments at Petit Hall on Nepean Sea Road in 1948. Renamed West Wind, the school grew under the leadership of Miss Roshan Curmally and later, Mrs. Khushie Curmally. Now located in Gamdevi, West Wind School remains a cooperative, non-profit institution focused on the intellectual and emotional well-being of children, offering a well-rounded curriculum.
