Presently, DAV is the largest Non-Government Educational organization in the country managing over 700 educational institutions in different parts of India as well as abroad. Matchless also was the sacrifice of his brother, Lala Mulkraj who fulfilled his pledge of supporting Hansrajs family all these years. The DAV movement would not have achieved its goal had it not got a young brilliant graduate, Mahatma Hansraj, the first Principal of the first DAV institution offered his honorary services as Jeevan Daan for 25 years. Thus the DAV College Trust as well as Management Society was established, which later setup a network of such educational in stitutions all over India as well as abrod. With a view to bring about a balanced as well as harmonious development of the future citizens of the country as well as to infuse in them the ideals of the Vedic Culture as well as a high sense of patriotism, Arya Samaj founded a Dayanand Anglo Vedic Shool at Lahore in 1886. Swami Dayanand Sarswati, the great pathe maker of modern India led a cusade against the superstitious as well as pernicious practices that prevailed in the country then. The DAV institiutions are a gift of the Arya Samaj-a-progressive movement founded by Swami Dayanand Sarswati in 1857.
